POEM: Walk Through the Fields

Updated: Dec 2, 2019

by MALLORY COOPER - October 9, 2019

The time just seems to slow here in the field

For by the sun and flowers she is healed

Her peace is brought along with summer breeze

It makes a lovely dance within the trees

She starts to spin like how the world does now

The butterflies are drawn to her somehow

Through all the beauty she can see on Earth

She can begin to see her own self-worth

As seasons change the time gains back its speed

While darkness finds its way in like a weed

Although the world becomes a solemn place

The summer field is still her own safe place
