POEM: Death of a Brother

by HUNTER COOK - February 27, 2020

One fateful day my life was shook—

Pure life was taken by a Crook.

A Peace I’d known at once was gone—

Are we not all good God’s small pawn?

It can not be described in full—

How tragic be Life’s push and pull

I look to see my Brother’s eyes—

But only find the void of sky.

I’m forced to question my God’s truth

when Death’s strong grip can take such youth.

Though God won’t answer our great cry,

I still ask—why, oh why?
