Westfield’s 2021-2022 Girl’s Volleyball team concluded the season with an 11-10 regular record and a first-round loss in the IHSAA Volleyball Sectional Tournament to the eventual tournament winner Fishers.

The Rocks finished the regular season with a record just above .500, but the team was looking to bounce back against a Fishers squad who they had lost to the week before. The team was confident heading into sectionals after a big win against Wapahani.

Considering that the sectionals were held at Westfield, the Rocks certainly had a home-court advantage. However, Fishers came away with the win in three straight sets scoring 16-25, 13-25, and 19-25 respectively. In the loss, Junior Lucy Muntel led the Rocks with eight kills, Junior Mallory Weber led the team in digs with 14, and Senior Logan Mapes led the assist category with 26.

Westfield only loses three seniors heading into next year. The Rocks will be more experienced and will look to bounce back with another great season next fall.
