Flour and sugar walls stand together
Candy cane arches lead to the door
Gumdrops dance upon the roof
Icing and candy hearts adorn the house
Bright colors of red, green, and white
Suddenly
Not enough icing at the seams
Candy canes litter the front yard
Gumdrops stumble from the roof
Candy hearts shatter across the floor
Colors dull from age
Three years wash away
The house we built has collapsed
It was all just gingerbread
