Turn the Page’s First Chapter

WESTFIELD, Ind. (Oct. 2018) - Walking into Turn the Page is like entering into a secret haven for book lovers; bookshelves line the walls, music and the smell of coffee drift through the air, and couches are arranged for anyone who might want to curl up with a good book. Every aspect of the bookstore was carefully handpicked by the owner, Mrs. Jamie Degler, to enhance the atmosphere and make the guests feel welcome.

The store opened its doors on Sept. 22, 2018, and is open Monday through Saturday 10 am to 6 pm, and on Sunday from 12 pm to 5 pm. Because of the earlier hours, Mrs. Degler hopes to have after-hours events frequently going on.

“I’d really like the community to take advantage of the bookstore, especially in the evenings,” Mrs. Degler said. “The bookstore closes early at 6:00, so I felt like the bookstore would really lend itself to events in the evenings as a gathering space.”

She suggested that if any high school students want to start a book club, they are more than welcome to use the store after hours, and she hopes that Turn the Page will become a happy social hub for the community.

“I would also love the store to be a space for, say, if the high school kids would like to do some small study groups. We have a sitting area within the store, and we have a front porch if the weather is nice, that we can have some of the kids of the community gather and study, or work on a project together,” Mrs. Degler said.

With downtown Westfield’s growth as a hub for activity and shopping, Turn the Page will certainly lend its own unique atmosphere to the growing community of local businesses thanks to Jamie Degler.
