POEM - Rabid Romance

by EVIE STOVALL - February 20, 2020

I’m obsessed with our starving marriage

Our lovely dogfight wedding

Where we shared a vicious kiss

Two mouths full of canine teeth

Our lovely dogfight wedding

Framed in angelic steel

Two mouths full of canine teeth

Biting the hands that held me

Framed in angelic steel

I said my vows to violence

Biting the hands that held me

Like a tongue on my pink wounds

I said my vows to violence

Teeth piercing through a muzzle

Like a tongue on my pink wounds

And a hole dug up in the yard

Teeth piercing through a muzzle

I’m alone now, a whelp of a widow

And a hole dug up in the yard

Is where the cherubs gather

I’m alone now, a whelp of a widow

I’m still obsessed with our starving marriage

It is where the cherubs gather,

Where we shared a vicious kiss
