my peripheral vision was blurred

but i could still see

a dazzling glow

coming from the far corner of the room

shining and shimmering--

maybe that can save me

yet it was nothing but a glance

of what i wanted to believe

it disappeared from the corner of my eye

gone in an instant

i wanted to see sparks fly

but they did not exist

i wanted a sign to bring me out of the sadness

not realizing that i needed to get myself out

but then i did what i had to do--

made my own sparks

and they flew above my head

shining

time to stop pretending

time to move on

glances of glitter can't fool me anymore
