poem: hollow

Updated: Dec 2, 2019

by SYDNEY CHURCH - October 10, 2019

i noticed the change, though slight

you had begun to lose your light

i hoped and prayed it would not be true

i could not bear to lose my person, not you

slowly, creeping came the day

i felt you fade away

i have felt no greater love

than yours and that hereof

i know that what you did was best

the grace of yours, better than the rest

i know now how i must follow

there is nothing here to fill my hollow
