WESTFIELD, Ind. (Dec. 14, 2019) - Every year, Westfield High School’s Student Government puts on an event called Cookies with Santa. Families from the community are invited to attend the celebration and enjoy holiday activities.
This year, along with the cookie-decorating stations, there were many other activities available for kids to enjoy. One table used the release of the new “Toy Story” movie to inspire a craft in the image of Forky, the beloved spork-like character. The event also hosted two llamas, two bounce houses, a cake walk and opportunities for pictures with both Santa and Mrs. Claus. A performance put on by Signature Sound served as the joyful background noise for this lively event as children ran about, fueled by sugar.
On top of the many wonderful aspects of the event, this year was especially successful. Within the first twenty minutes, admission had already counted over a hundred entries. By the end of the event, however, all of the toy donation boxes were nearly full. It not only displayed the generosity of the community, but was a clear reminder of the true meaning of Christmas as well: compassion, love and generosity.
