our favorite antique store
was scheduled to close down
4 months back, I
didn’t expect it to be
foreshadowing.
those musty lace pajamas, cheap
abstract paintings, &
browning pages by Oscar Wilde were
foundational for you & me.
every week we’d pose in those
rusty, chipped mirrors, making
eye contact with naïveté itself.
I guess it’s a good time to tell you
our sushi restaurant closed too.
